About This Event
Join us for the best party race of the season! This five-mile event, held at the luxurious, four-diamond Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, is the perfect weekend getaway for you and your running pals! The competition is stiff, the awards numerous, and the party rocks!
5 mile out and back on country roads and around the resort.
It all started on a balmy winter day in 1980 at the Playboy Club in beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Over 1,000 runners showed up for our first-time event. The late John Jantz fired the starter's pistol, and Playboy bunnies, in uniform, gave out the trophies! Since then the run has added many additional run and party features. Join us on Saturday January 7th, 2017 for the 38th running of the best darn race & party in the Midwest!
The race begins and ends at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, just east of the intersection of hwys. 50 & 12 on the east side of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. After the long driveway, you will see the Forum building and parking lot. There is additional parking beyond the main entrance. Registration packet pickup and post-race party at the Forum.

Bib numbers may be picked up on race day at 12:30 p.m. at the Forum Ballroom.
Medals are awarded to the fastest male and female of EACH age (e.g., 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 on up) and second place finisher in each age! Awards for the overall fastest male and female winners. And then there's the Grand, Overall, Overall, World Champion award!
A special award will be given to all preregistered runners.
Tons of door prizes and other party favors will be given out after the run.
Huge post-race party!
The biggest and wildest post run party of the season! Schnaaps stop at the finish line. Complementary beer & soda, burgers & brats (regular and veggie), snacks, DJ, dancing, tons 'o door prizes, Sausage dance, Big Hunk dance, etc. Non-runners may purchase a beverage pass for $20 (soda) or $25 (beer), but are not eligible for door prizes. NO CARRY IN ALLOWED IN FORUM BALLROOM, PLEASE.
This year will be a Pajama Party. Break out the silk pajamas, nighties and negligees for the pre-bedtime party of the year!! Dress the part and be the talk of the Party.

Don't drink & drive! A block of rooms has been reserved with prices starting at $134.00 per night, plus taxes, or if you stay Friday & Saturday night (2 nights stay) you can get even a better rate!!! Now the guys can get into the act, too! After the Sausage Dance, there will be a dance contest for the men to see who will be crowned the BIG HUNK. (A party favorite since 2007).

The race will not be canceled or delayed due to weather. No refunds. Finish times will be recorded up to 65 minutes. (For safety reasons, we can't risk having our volunteers outside for longer than that - please be considerate.)

The Fleadh includes customer appreciation parties, a 5K run/walk, an open streets event (ride, blade, skate), a family parade, and a pub and restaurant open house. CARA Emerging and Green Race
This race has applied for and received the Chicago Area Runners Association designation as a 2016 CARA EMERGING RACE CARA16018. This distinction is given to races receiving CARA Race Certification for the first time. This race has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA's Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.
This race has also been designated a 2016 CARA Green Race due to their agreement to adhere to a set number of Green Practices that have been approved by CARA. The successful completion of these practices, recognize the achievement of an eco-friendly race.

St. Damian Food Pantry Food Drive
The shelves at the St. Damian Food Pantry start to go bare in March, which is why we are asking every registered runner to bring at least one non-perishable food item to the CNB Fleadh 5K. In particular, the food pantry needs jelly, peanut butter, pasta sauce, and cereal. The food pantry benefits Oak Forest families in need. Thank you in advance for your support.
Open Streets - 10 a.m.
After the 5K run/walk, children and adults are welcome to ride, walk or run a car-free Cicero Avenue from 151st Street to 156th Street as part of the Open Streets initiative. The event is free and does not require registration.
Family Parade - 11 a.m.
The parade will kick off at 11 a.m. from 157th Street and travel along Cicero Avenue to 151st Street. Families, businesses and community, school and religious groups are encouraged to participate in the parade.

Free parking will be available all day and night in the Arbor Commuter Lot at the southwest corner of 159th Street and Oak Avenue – across from the Metra train station.
Throughout the event, alcohol will only be permitted inside designated areas such as beer tents, beer gardens, pubs, and restaurants. The city's public intoxication and open containers ordinances will be strictly enforced.
Cicero Avenue, from 151st Street to 159th Street, will be closed 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. The city's Emergency Management Agency will allow local traffic to get through the adjacent neighborhoods between 147th Street and 151st Street. It will redirect non-local traffic down 147th Street to Pulaski Road.

RRCA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RACE
Since 1958, the RRCA has awarded championship events through a competitive bidding process at the National, Regional, and State level to RRCA member clubs and events to promote the sport of distance running. The goal of the RRCA Championship Event Series is to shine a spotlight on well-run events and to award top performing runners in the open, masters (40+), grand masters (50+), and senior grand masters (60+) categories for both men and women. The Good Life Race will be an RRCA 5K Regional Championship race this year!

The start and finish lines are at the Oak Park River Forest High School, 201 N. Scoville just north of Lake Street, Oak Park.

There is a parking garage on the corner of Scoville and Lake with 300 parking spots. There is a nominal charge for parking in the garage. In addition there is lots of free on-street parking south of Lake Street and west of the High School. Please look for no parking signs and DO NOT park along the race course.
